John
Schindler, M.Eng., P.Eng., President and Chair
Re-elected to OSPE’s board in 2008, John wants to
make OSPE a fully functioning political advocacy body.
He is President of Schindler Technologies Corporation,
a firm offering a variety of design, engineering, 3D modeling
and visualization and training services. John received
a B.Sc. Mechanical and an M.Eng., Naval Architecture from
the Technical University of Gdansk in Poland. He has been
a member of PEO since 1994, a consulting engineer since
1999 and has presented papers at the IEEE Holm conference
and the ESMO-95 Conference. |

Alourdes Sully , M.Eng. Mgmt., P.Eng., Vice Chair Alourdes Sully was re-elected to the OSPE Board in 2009. Ms. Sully is a Team Lead Project Engineering–Distributed Generation Connections at Hydro One Networks Inc. and is the Past- Chair of the PEO North Toronto Chapter. Alourdes is an Executive Board Member (Secretary/Treasurer) of United Telecom Council Canada and Board Member of Utilities Telecom Council (US). She is also a member of IEEE and the Ontario Energy Network. Her volunteer involvement in the profession includes being a judge at the FIRST Robotics Competition, mentor for the Women in Ryerson Engineering and new engineering graduate at UoT Career Centre. Ms. Sully holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics, System and communications from Laval University and a M.Eng. in Engineering Management from Sherbrooke University in Quebec. |

Nadine
Miller, P.Eng., Treasurer
Nadine
Miller, P.Eng. joined the OSPE Board in 2007. Currently
a Geotechnical Engineer with AMEC Earth and Environmental
in Sudbury Ontario, Ms. Miller has extensive experience
working on mining projects in Australia, Europe, North
and South America. She has published numerous technical
papers and is a member of the Canadian Dam Association,
the Canadian Geotechnical Society (Sudbury Chapter) and
Women in Science and Engineering. A graduate of the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, with an M.Eng., Civil and Environmental
Engineering, Ms. Miller also holds a B.A.Sc. (Lassonde
Mineral Engineering) from the University of Toronto. |

Edward
Poon, P.Eng., Secretary
Re-elected to the Board in 2010, Edward Poon, P.Eng., is
a Senior Project Engineer for the Toronto Transit Commission.
Mr. Poon’s extensive work experience also includes
positions with Halsall Associates Limited, Kleinfeldt
Consultants Limited, Kilborn Limited and five years with
the Hong Kong Government Housing Authority. Actively involved
with the PEO York Chapter as Chair, 2005-2007 and Director
1999 to present, Mr. Poon holds a Bachelor of Engineering,
Civil Engineering from McMaster University, a Masters
of Applied Science from the University of Toronto and
a Masters of Science in Construction Project Management
from the University of Hong Kong. |

Annette
M. Bergeron, M.B.A., P.Eng., Past Chair
Annette Bergeron, P.Eng. was re-elected to the
Board in 2009, having first joined the OSPE Board in 2002,
elected Chair in May 2004, and then Secretary in 2007.
A licensed professional engineer since 1990, Ms. Bergeron
began her career as a Production Engineer at Dofasco Inc.
She is now AMS General Manager at Queen’s University,
and prior to that was a Lecturer for the School of Business
and a Director in the Facultyof Applied Science at Queen’s.
In June 2006, Ms. Bergeron was appointed to the Board
of Directors of Kingston General Hospital. She holds an
Honours Bachelor of Science (Material and Metallurgical
Engineering) from Queen’s and a Masters of Business
Administration from the Schulich School of Business at
York University. |

Theresa R. Erskine, MBA, P.Eng., Director
First elected to the Board in 2010, Theresa Erskine is Business Development Coordinator for the Office of Research Services at Ryerson University. Prior to that she held business development positions at several technology companies including Argus Technologies, DataMirror Corporation, InSystems and The Software Group. Her diverse industry background includes engineering design and operations with Agra Monenco and 3M Canada, and product development and marketing management with Baxter Corporation and Munro Concrete. A past PEO Regional Councilor, Ms. Erskine remains actively engaged in supporting the engineering profession as a member of OSPE’s Professional Development Committee and as Chair of OSPE’s Research and Innovation Task Force. She holds a Bsc (Eng) from the University of Guelph, and a MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. |

William
Donald Goodings, P.Eng., Director
Re-elected to the Board in 2010, Mr. Goodings has over 55
years experience as an engineering consultant for the
private and public sectors in Canada and abroad. He was
a Vice-President of Proctor & Redfern, Consulting
Engineers. An important career accomplishment of Mr. Goodings
was his wide ranging solid waste management work, Following
successful Ministry of the Environment sponsored assessment
hearings, Mr. Goodings' work led to the approval of nine
major sanitary landfills in Ontario. Mr. Goodings was
a director and president of Consulting Engineers of Ontario
(CEO). As a founding member of the Composting Council
of Canada, Mr. Goodings also spent two terms as its Board
Chair. Since retirement, Mr. Goodings has completed 17
solid waste management projects in four third world countries
for Canadian Executive Services Organization (CESO). Mr.
Goodings holds a B.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from Queens
University, had been a practicing Ontario Land Surveyor,
and currently is the Chair of OSPE’s Solid Waste
Management Task Force and a member of the Society’s
Complaints and Discipline Process Task Force. |

Robert
Hughes, P.Eng., Director
Robert Hughes, P.Eng. joined the OSPE Board in 2008. He
is currently a PC Managing Leader at Stantec Consulting
Limited in London, Ontario with over 20 years of experience
in the consulting engineering industry. He is currently
the Secretary Treasurer of the London Chapter of Consulting
Engineers of Ontario. Mr. Hughes holds a Bachelor of Science
in Engineering from the University of Guelph. |

James
Maltby, P.Eng., Director
James Maltby, P.Eng. joined the OSPE Board in 2008. Currently
a Group Lead/Principal Engineer with Xstrata Nickel in
Sudbury, Ontario, Mr. Maltby has 30 years experience in
the mining industry. He has contributed to several papers
and guidelines documents concerning Mine Tailings Management
and is a member of the Canadian Dam Association (CDA),
the Mining Association of Canada (MAC) Tailings Management
Committee and has previously served on the Sudbury PEO
Chapter Executive Committee. Mr. Maltby holds a Bachelor
of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University
of Waterloo. |

Michael
Monette, MBA, EDP, P.Eng., Director
First elected to the OSPE Board in 2005, Michael Monette
was elected President and Chair in 2007 and then again
in 2008. In this role Mr. Monette also acts as Chair of
the Board Executive Committee. Michael has served on the
Board of Xplor International, is Chair of the Board for
Magenn Corporation and President and CEO of Georgian Windpower
Corporation. Michael has a background in professional
engineering spanning two decades, with areas of specialty
in document management systems and services, turbine thermodynamics
and power generation combined with executive strategic
planning and development, management, sales and marketing
experience. He is currently a Director of Xerox Corporation
and leads a team of subject matter experts at Xerox Global
Services (Canada). Michael holds a B.Eng. mechanical from
Carleton University and an MBA from Ivey School of Business. |

Derek
Pinder, P.Eng., Director
Derek Pinder, P.Eng. joined the OSPE Board in 2008. Currently
a Manager of Engineering at SNC-Lavalin Inc., Mining &
Metallurgy, Mr. Pinder has spent forty years in the Engineering
Profession in a broad spectrum of engineering applications:
from aerospace to mining; from manufacturing to operations
& maintenance. Those years have also taken him around
the globe: from England to Zambia; from Canada to Kazakhstan.
He holds the designation of Chartered Engineer in Europe
and is a member of the Institution of Engineering &
Technology in the United Kingdom. |

Matthew
Xie, P.Eng., MBA, Director
First elected to the Board in 2009, Matthew Xie, P.Eng.,
MBA currently works as a Platform Manager for Anton Mfg.
in Concord, Ontario. Mr. Xie, a Mechanical Engineer with
17 years of experience in product development, holds a
Ba.Sc., in Mechanical Engineering from the University
of Toronto, and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business
at York University. |

Angela
Shama , P.Eng., Chief Executive Officer
Appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer
in April 2007, Angela Shama, P.Eng. brings a distinguished
career in association management and public affairs
to the role. The CEO is an ex officio non-voting member
of the Board.
