Voting Procedure:
An independent agency, ADP Investor Communications (ADP), has been engaged to issue, collect and tabulate returned ballots and report on ballot results. If you are eligible to vote, please refer to the ballot you received in the mail for detailed instructions. If you are certain that you are eligible to vote and did not receive a voting package in the mail, please contact Andrea Vecera at (416) 223-9961 or 1 866 763-1654, ext. 222.

OSPE elections are structured to ensure a turnover of 1/3 of our Board members each year. For this election:

  • Three positions are open as a result of the normal rotation.
  • One position is open to replace a Director who is unable to complete his term.
  • Three new positions will be added, as prescribed by a bylaw change approved by members at the 2003 AGM. The terms of the new positions are staggered: one one-year term, one two-year term and one three-year term.

If you are eligible to vote in the 2004 OSPE election, you have two options:

Internet Voting Option:

  • Locate your control number listed in the printed voting package you received from ADP.
  • Visit www.proxyvotecanada.com and enter your control number where indicated, then follow the directions.
  • You may vote for up to seven candidates: two for a one-year term, one for a two-year term and four for a three-year term.
  • Indicate your voting decisions by checking the boxes of up to seven candidates. If you attempt to submit a vote with more candidates selected in any term category than there are positions open for that category, you will receive an error message.
  • Any subsequent votes will be invalid.

Mail Ballot Option:
  • Refer to the printed voting package you received from ADP.
  • You may vote for up to seven candidates: two for a one-year term, one for a two-year term and four for a three-year term.
  • Place a check mark in the box beside the name of each candidate you wish to vote for. If you place a check mark beside more candidate names than there are positions open in any term category, your vote will be invalid.
  • Mail your marked ballot in the business reply envelope provide. Do not mail your ballot to the OSPE office.
  • If you have already voting using the Internet voting option, your mailed ballot will be invalid.

Results of the election will be officially announced and the new board will take office at the Society’s Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 29, 2004.

Watch your mailbox for your official OSPE election ballot and voting information.
