Jonathan Hack, P.Eng.
Past Chair
Jonathan has been active on the OSPE Board since 2013. During this time, he has been a member of the executive committee, and chaired the Audit and Finance Committee as Treasurer in 2015. He has also led the Research and Innovation Taskforce, and been a part of the PEO/OSPE Government Liaison Committee (GLC). As of 2017, Jonathan has served as OSPE’s President and Chair, while contributing to several committees, including Human Resources, Joint Relations and Membership Advisory.
Jonathan is an innovation leader in the Canadian aerospace sector. He joined Bombardier Aerospace in 2010 after an extensive career in the automotive industry (23 years) with General Motors – both in Canada, and internationally. Jonathan is currently leading Bombardier’s aerospace R&D efforts in the area of advanced aircraft interiors and cabin systems development. In addition to his research responsibilities, Jonathan is also responsible for University/College Relations and Government Relations in Ontario. He is very active on various policy initiatives to improve aerospace sector growth in Ontario and across Canada.
Jonathan is active on the AIAC (Aerospace Industries Association of Canada) Technology and Innovation Committee, the NSERC Ontario Advisory Board and is on the Board of Directors of the Green Aviation Research and Development Network (GARDN). In addition, Jonathan is active on the advisory boards for several colleges and universities in Ontario. Jonathan believes that engineers need to play a greater role in influencing government and major stakeholders in matters involving science and engineering. He is committed in ensuring that engineers are more visible in public policy discussions where technical issues are involved.
Jonathan holds a B.Eng. & Mgt. degree (mechanical) from McMaster University and an MBA from York University.
