Celebrate Engineering Innovation in the Hamilton-Halton Community

With OSPE’s #AnEngineerWasHere public awareness campaign just around the corner, we’re reminding our members, partners and colleagues how important it is to celebrate engineering innovation in our own backyards! In much the same way, for over 30 years, the Hamilton-Halton Engineering Week Co-ordinating Committee has made it a priority to recognize the contributions of engineers in the local Hamilton-Halton community.

October 15th marks the 38th Annual Hamilton-Halton Engineering Week Luncheon

Hamilton-HaltonHosted at the elegant Carmen’s Banquet Centre, the theme of this year’s luncheon is “Innovation: The Future is Now!” It has become a longstanding tradition to invite a keynote speaker to address Luncheon attendees regarding a noteworthy engineering topic. This year, guests will hear from Mr. David Carter, Executive Director, Innovation Factory, who will discuss the ways autonomous vehicles will affect multi-modal transportation and the design of Smart Cities.

Each year, the Committee strives to make its events as accessible as possible for aspiring engineers by devoting a portion of sponsorship from the annual luncheon towards subsidizing local engineering students’ attendance at not only this event, but also other engineering-themed events in the community throughout the year.
