Ontario's Electricity Dilemma

Author: Paul Acchione, P.Eng.

Ontario is faced with an energy dilemma: It has successfully decarbonized its electricity system but now produces more clean electricity during some hours of the day than people need. Paul Acchione, P.Eng., discusses how we can encourage people and companies to use that surplus clean electricity to displace the fossil fuels they use for their other energy needs. Paul Acchione, P.Eng., is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and has nearly 50 years of experience in the electricity sector. He has spent the last 10 years focusing on how we can change our energy policies to reduce our overall energy costs and also reduce our atmospheric emissions.
