Introducing OSPE's new President and Chair: Mark Frayne, P.Eng.

On May 8, 2021, at OSPE's virtual Annual General Meeting, we introduced or new President & Chair, Mark Frayne, P.Eng. Mark Frayne, P.Eng., MBA, and PMP, believes engineers are primed to shape the role of society in the future. Mark’s unique experience growing up in a farming community, combined with 30 years of work in the mining industry, leaves him well suited to understand the complex challenges these industry’s face in the future. Mark hopes to use his background volunteering for advocacy organizations to ensure that OSPE maintains and heightens the relevancy of engineer’s in society. He is committed to OSPE’s strategic pillars and the role engineers have in maintaining public safety, alongside maintaining outreach to all sectors and groups in the engineering community. Mark currently volunteers his time with various groups: Scouts Canada, the Sudbury Playground Hockey league, Women in Science and Engineering and as Treasurer of the Huron Woods Community Association. He serves as the Chair on the Professional Advisory Committee at Cambrian College, on the Awards and Recognitions committee for the Municipal Engineering Association, and the Vice-Chair Technical Advisory Committee for the Mines & Aggregates Safety & Health Association.
