Description

The webinar will examine the historical evolution of the provisions of the Model National Building Code of Canada with regard to acoustics, noise, and vibration issues. This includes a version-by-version overview of the requirements articulated in successive versions of the Code. Further discussion will be provided regarding the progression of court decisions that have been made and how this may influence the evolution of future Codes.
 
Attendees will be provided with information about the past, present, and future constraints that have been, and potentially will, be incorporated in the model NBCC.

Speaker Bio

 

Todd Busch, M.A.Sc. Engineering

Mr. Todd Busch has extensive experience as an Acoustical Consultant, Senior Engineer, and Senior Project Manager with a Master of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on acoustics, and additional Certificate education in construction management. He is the owner of Todd Busch Consulting. Todd has been involved in a variety of projects across many sectors including environmental noise analysis and mitigation, offices, research facilities, exhibition & convention centres, auditoriums, commercial, hospitality, educational institutions, highways, railways, aviation, etc. In the last 28 years of his career, Mr. Busch has worked on a wide range of technical tasks covering architectural acoustics, mechanical noise and vibration, construction noise and vibration, and ground-borne vibration. He is affiliated with Institute of Noise Control Engineers USA, Audio Engineering Society (AES), and many such international organisations. He has published over 50 articles through a variety of media including conference proceedings, peer-reviewed journal articles, and magazines.
