This is a virtual offering that runs from 12:00-1:00 PM EDT.

Description

This virtual introductory session would explain the rationale and benefits, as well as differences between Lean, Six Sigma and Agile and how the methodologies and concepts complement each other.

This session will describe the programs in detail and answer any questions regarding logistics, exam and certification requirements, as well as any other inquiries.

The approach of the future sessions will be progressive with three separate offerings

  • Introductory:
    • Eight (8) hour virtual White Belt session
  • Intermediate:
    • Three (3) day virtual Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt session
      • Pre-requisite – White Belt attendance
  • Advanced:
    • Four (4) day virtual Lean Six Sigma Green Belt session
      • Pre-requisite – Yellow Belt attendance

Objectives

The learning objectives for the webinar will be an understanding of the following:

  • Understand the rationale and benefits of Lean, Six Sigma and Agile
  • Explain how the methodologies differ and also complement each other
  • Understand how the methodology can apply to virtually any process

Speaker Bio

 

Ed Welsh

Over 30 years of progressive, international, corporate and consulting experience (more than 10 years at Plant Manager / Director / VP levels) with multinational market leaders. (Tampax, Playtex, Dunlop Slazenger, Wranglers, United Biscuits).

Held positions of increasing responsibility in line management roles, from Production Supervisor through Plant Manager to VP Manufacturing; and as Industrial Engineer, Distribution Manager, Quality Control and R&D Manager in staff/support positions. With several of these companies, played an integral, ‘hands on’ role in the successful implementation of modern management philosophies and techniques such as Toyota Sew System. Lean Manufacturing, TQM, ‘Just In Time’ (JIT), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), SPC, MRPII, Set Up Time Reduction, Employee Involvement and Team-Centered Manufacturing, resulting in substantial cost savings and operational improvements.

Trained and coached over 3000 Black Belts, Green Belts and Lean Six Sigma Champions and Sponsors through hundreds of initiatives in Canada and internationally, in diverse organizations such as Honda, GM, Chrysler, Bombardier Aerospace, Toshiba, Magellan Aerospace, Bruce Power, Ingersoll Rand, Shaw Communications, Husky, Solium Financial, Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities, Marsh McLennan Insurance, Banking, Astra Zeneca, Dynacare Labs, City of Mississauga and many other Government Institutions.
