Candidate Statement

I am honored to be nominated for a director position on the board. Over the years, I have stood up for engineers through being a strong advocate of sound public policy that will allow the engineering profession to become more innovative and dynamic. This commitment led me to run in the last federal election on a platform of progressive energy policies. I have forged connections within all levels of government and I have a strong appreciation of how to advocate effectively within the public sector to create positive change.
Over the past year, I have actively volunteered my time with OSPE. This has been shown through government lobbying efforts through the Political Action Network as well as through being a mentor to support women in engineering. I am excited about OSPE’s expanded mandate to strive for a more open and inclusive society through the creation of the Equity Diversity & Inclusion committee. If elected, I would assist in realizing this initiative so that everyone within our profession feels as though they have a voice.
