OSPE’s Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) workshop series helps you master PEO’s application requirements (and any CBA-using provincial regulator – see FAQ) by teaching you how to write and refine your engineering stories — with guidance every step of the way.

Workshop A: Crafting Your CBA Stories
Learn how to identify your engineering experience and transform it into clear, compelling “stories” aligned with PEO’s 34 competencies.

- How to break down your engineering experience into clear, PEO’s format of structured “Situation–Action–Outcome” stories.
- Techniques and practical tool for aligning your stories with all 34 competencies.
- Writing strategies, templates, and hands-on exercises to improve your comfort and skills as you go.
Workshop B: Polishing Your CBA Submission
Take your drafted stories, refine them, and package your portfolio to comply with PEO’s strict “experience requirement”.

- How to align your experience with the remaining competencies.
- Tips for organizing and submitting a clear, professional CBA package.

No. You can attend sessions in any order — and one registration covers both.
Should I take both?
Yes! Together, they give you the confidence to write all 34 competencies needed for your P.Eng. application by focusing in detail on 5 different competencies in each of the two workshops.
Can I spread them out over time?
