Refund Policy
Membership Refunds
Thank you for purchasing an OSPE membership.
If you are unsatisfied with your membership, OSPE offers a full refund (minus a $25 administrative fee) within 14 days of your date of payment to the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers. Refund requests will not be accepted after this 14-day period.
Please note that the cancellation of your membership with OSPE will affect your ability to utilize membership benefits, including access to discounts through The Personal, Perkopolis, BMS Group, and more. Also, if you accessed any of these member benefits, or made any member discounted purchases within the aforementioned 14-day period, you immediately forfeit your right to a membership refund.
All membership refunds requests must be made in writing via email, or mail, including Member Name, Member ID, nature of the request, the date, the original method of payment and contact information including e-mail, primary phone number and home address.

OSPE Events
Special or promotional events (e.g., OPEA Gala, EngCon, EngTalks, Socials, or fundraising galas and more) are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in the event description.
Paid event registrations may be allocated to another user (the purchaser is required to notify OSPE 2 business days prior to the event).
OSPE Courses, Webinars, and Workshops
Participant withdrawals & refunds for in-person, virtual, or hybrid courses, webinars, workshops, and events:
Refunds are processed based on the timing of the written withdrawal request:
| Time of Written Withdrawal | Refund Policy |
|---|---|
| 14 or more business days prior to the start date | Full refund |
| 5 to 13 business days prior to the start date | 50% refund |
| Fewer than 5 business days prior | No refund |
| No-show / no written notice | No refund |
Participants may request a one-time transfer to a future cohort or alternate course date (if available), subject to an administrative fee of $100.
Participant withdrawals for self-paced online courses and webinars:
Refunds depend on whether access to course materials or platforms has been granted or used:
| Access Status | Refund Policy |
|---|---|
| Withdrawal within 14 days of purchase and no login or course/webinar access has occurred | Full refund |
| Withdrawal within 14 days, but course/webinar access has been logged or content downloaded | No refund |
| After 14 days from purchase | No refund, regardless of access status |
Participants who begin a webinar or log in to a self-paced course are considered to have started and are therefore not eligible for a refund.
