Engineering Licensure Readiness Program – CBA and NPPE Prep
Are you an International Engineering Graduate (IEG) pursuing licensure in Ontario? Navigating the Canadian licensure process can be challenging, and we are here to support you. Through OSPE’s virtual CBA and NPPE preparation program, International Engineering Graduates anywhere in Ontario can receive guided training to assist in progressing through the journey towards licensure in Ontario.

The ELRP is a comprehensive program offering a range of valuable licensure supports. It is available exclusively as a complete package – outlined below.
Stage 1: Virtual CBA Preparation
Understand and present your international experience through Canada’s Competency-Based Assessment (CBA).
- Learn to meet Canadian licensure standards through interactive workshops led by licensed engineers.
- Understand the 34 competencies required across 7 categories, as mandated by PEO and other provincial regulators.
- Get support to write strong, clear examples that reflect your engineering experience.

- 3 live, practical online workshops
- Guided exercises between sessions
- 2 one-on-one coaching sessions
Stage 2: Virtual NPPE Preparation
Get ready to pass the National Professional Practice Exam (NPPE).- Learn about the key topics on the NPPE including professionalism and ethics, professional practice, and law for professional practice.
- Become familiar with the NPPE’s format and components.
- Access vital resources and practice exams.
- Learn strategies for excelling in the exam, registration tips, and remote proctoring prep.
- Prepare with expert instruction and targeted group sessions.
- OSPE’s Public NPPE Preparatory Course and access to on-demand content videos to support learning
- 4 additional cohort-focused support sessions
- 2 full mock exams with answer keys
Stage 3: Virtual Employment Support

Program eligibility
To be considered for the program:
- Candidates must have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 7+ in all categories.
- Hold an Undergraduate engineering Degree from outside Canada.
- Be a permanent resident (PR), naturalized citizen, provincial nominee, refugee claimant, or on a work permit with PR approval.
- Have 4 years of engineering work experience.
- Have completed or be completing PEO technical exams.

*Please note that as part of our funding guidelines, eligibility for this program is limited to those who have not pursued post-secondary education in Canada.
Program schedule
All classes and coaching will take place virtually. Program participants must be available to attend all classes in the program schedule below, including scheduled employment support sessions. sessions during the program.

Virtual Orientation & CBA Training Dates
- Orientation: Thursday, October 2 (5:30pm - 7pm)
- Week 1: Thursday, October 9 - CBA Part A (5:30pm - 8:30pm)
- Week 2: 1st mandatory CBA coaching call
- Week 3: Thursday, October 23 - CBA Part B (5:30pm - 8:30pm)
- Week 4: Thursday, October 30 - CBA Part C (5:30pm - 8:30pm)
- Weeks 5 to 8: October 31 to November 28 - 2nd mandatory CBA coaching call

- Week 1: Saturday, November 29 - ELRP Orientation for NPPE (9am - 10:30am)
- 1 week catch up break
- Week 2: Monday, December 8 - NPPE Training (5:30pm - 8:30pm)
- Week 3: Monday, December 15 - NPPE Training (5:30pm - 8:30pm)
- Week 4: Monday, December 22nd - NPPE Training (5:30pm - 8:30pm)
- Week 4: Saturday, December 27 - ELRP Specific NPPE Session (9am - 10:30am)
