The ELRP is a comprehensive program offering a range of valuable licensure supports. It is available exclusively as a complete package – outlined below.

Stage 1: Virtual CBA Preparation

Understand and present your international experience through Canada’s Competency-Based Assessment (CBA).

  • Learn to meet Canadian licensure standards through interactive workshops led by licensed engineers.
  • Understand the 34 competencies required across 7 categories, as mandated by PEO and other provincial regulators.
  • Get support to write strong, clear examples that reflect your engineering experience.

  • 2 one-on-one coaching sessions

Stage 2: Virtual NPPE Preparation

Get ready to pass the National Professional Practice Exam (NPPE).
  • Learn about the key topics on the NPPE including professionalism and ethics, professional practice, and law for professional practice.
  • Become familiar with the NPPE’s format and components.
  • Access vital resources and practice exams.
  • Learn strategies for excelling in the exam, registration tips, and remote proctoring prep.
  • Prepare with expert instruction and targeted group sessions.

  • 4 additional cohort-focused support sessions
  • 2 full mock exams with answer keys

Stage 3: Virtual Employment Support

Take your engineering career to the next level.
  • One-on-one job search and career coaching.
  • Customized employment readiness and job search support.
  • Guidance for career advancement in Canada.

Program eligibility

Candidates for the program will be prioritized based on the following eligibility criteria:
  • Must be a naturalized Canadian Citizen; Permanent Resident, approved provincial nominee under OINP (excluding International Student stream), Asylum claimant – 900-series SIN & open work permit, Emergency travel visitor – 900-series SIN & open work permit, or Temporary work permit holder with PR approval.
  • Hold an undergraduate engineering degree from outside Canada.
  • Have four years of relevant and verifiable engineering work experience in industry.
  • Have completed or be completing PEO technical exams and/or be eligible for the NPPE.
  • Have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 7 or higher (or equivalent) in all categories.
*Please note that as part of our funding guidelines, eligibility for this program is limited to those who have not pursued post-secondary education in Canada.
