OSPE is very proud to announce that former OSPE Chair, Dr. Marilyn Powers, P.Eng., will be assuming the role of Dean of Engineering & Technology at Conestoga College as of May 6, 2024. Marilyn is a dedicated OSPE volunteer, such that she has recently been elected to serve another term as a member of the Board of Directors beginning with our Annual General Meeting this week.
Marilyn has been a dedicated champion of the engineering community throughout her diverse career. After completing her Ph. D., she began her professional journey in industry, and most recently found a home in academia at Mohawk College, where her focus was on bringing emerging technologies like virtual reality to the curriculum and building a team to support both students and faculty on the adoption of technologies for all forms of learning. No doubt her success in this role has prepared her well for this new and exciting challenge.
Throughout her career, Dr. Powers has been an inclusive leader, and we are confident she will thrive in this critical strategic role. OSPE is thrilled that her intelligence, talent, and passion are being recognized, and we look forward to watching her continue to advance the engineering program at Conestoga under her guidance.
