Karen is a long-time advocate for the profession and a committed mentor. She has served as Past-President of OSPE, Past-Chair of the PEO Lake Ontario Chapter, and contributes to engineering education and equity through advisory roles at Western Engineering and Ontario Tech University. She is a Fellow of Engineers Canada, a SWE Global Ambassador, and a WXN Top 100 award recipient.

Neil Ali, P.Eng.
Neil is a senior electrical engineer and team leader with over two decades of experience in electrical design, construction supervision, and project management. His diverse experience includes projects in numerous business sectors, including infrastructure, culture and recreation, education, institutional, residential, commercial, and industrial. The combination of his experience, design, and project management skills make him a strong asset to any project team. Neil is currently employed in an Associate level with a private integrated design firm specialising in building construction.
Neil has provided mentorship and guidance to a number of engineers, EIT’s and technologists throughout his career, some of whom have moved on into leadership positions in various organisations. His aim to provide the same to upcoming professionals in the engineering field in order to help them achieve their personal and career goals.

H. (Cloud) Heng, P.Eng.
Cloud’s professional experience is in STEM research, engineering education, and the offshore oil and energy industry. He holds a strong track record of mentorship across diverse settings and is particularly passionate about supporting student members.
He helps students understand and apply the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board graduate attributes, which serve as a foundation for current students to better prepare for competency-based assessments required during the engineering licensing process following graduation.
With experience across three continents, Cloud is also committed to supporting internationally trained engineers as they navigate career transitions and professional licensing in Canada. Through mentorship, Cloud aims to foster the next generation of engineers and promote the participation of underrepresented groups in STEM.
