OSPE Names Replacement Director Stephen Pepper, P.Eng.

With the sudden passing of dedicated Board Director Irene Sterian, P.Eng., a vacant position was created on the OSPE Board of Directors. 

As per our bylaws, provided that a quorum of the Board remains in office, any vacancies which may occur may be filled for the remainder of the term by the Board from among the eligible Professional and Associate members of the Society. 

With the intent of filling the vacant position, the OSPE Executive Committee reviewed the current competency matrix, as well as the sector and region requirements, and made a recommendation to the OSPE Board on how to fill this position. Thereafter, at a special meeting of the OSPE Board of Directors held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the Board approved the appointment of Stephen Pepper, P.Eng. to sit on the Board for a 2-year term. 

Mr. Pepper recently ran for the OSPE Board of Directors, finishing in 5^th place, and has been a member of the OSPE Energy Task Force for over 10 years. He is currently the chair of this important policy group.
