The Engineering Conference 2022: How the Energy Sector Can Use United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to Champion Diversity and Inclusion

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) centre the immediate needs of the global population, and are critical in advancing diversity and inclusion. These 17 goals – which cover climate action, sustainable production, clean energy and more – create opportunities for engineers to serve a global purpose

At the 2022 Engineering Conference, OSPE is hosting a panel discussion on how engineers can use these goals to promote EDI on a global scale. This session (How the Energy Sector Can Use United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to Champion Diversity and Inclusion) explores how energy professionals can work with the SDGs to build diverse, inclusive societies.

We look forward to welcoming the following industry leaders for this critical discussion:

Lorraine Gray, P.Eng (Hydro One)
Prof. Karin Hinzer, P.Eng. (University of Ottawa)
Dakota Kochie (Nuclear Waste Management Organization)
Tom Krumins, P.Eng. (Vale)
Lisa McBride (GE Canada)

The Engineering Conference is Canada’s largest engineering, diversity and recruitment event. It takes place November 3, 2022 at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa. Details including live and virtual registration, and partnership information, are available on the conference webpage.
