Save the Date: Elevating The Value of Engineering

What is the value of engineering? Is it efficiency equations and automation, or is it thoughtful design, where form and function, the interests of the many and the few, are weighed together?

The profession is at a crossroads. As the tools available to engineers grow more powerful by the day, engineering services are increasingly procured and valued as though expertise is interchangeable, regulations are lagging behind the pace of change, and talent is being pushed to leave the field,

Taking responsibility away from engineers and treating their judgment as a cost to minimize rather than a value to invest in, is a very dangerous trend. The industry has to work together to make sure engineers remain at the centre of our infrastructure and innovation programs.

Join OSPE on September 16, 2026, in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for Elevating the Value of Engineering, a one-day symposium bringing together engineering leaders, infrastructure owners, procurement professionals, and government to explore what it will take to raise the bar for how engineering is recognized, rewarded, and delivered across Ontario.
