Ed Welsh

Over 30 years of progressive, international, corporate and consulting experience (more than 10 years at Plant Manager / Director / VP levels) with multinational market leaders. (Tampax, Playtex, Dunlop Slazenger, Wranglers, United Biscuits).

Held positions of increasing responsibility in line management roles, from Production Supervisor through Plant Manager to VP Manufacturing; and as Industrial Engineer, Distribution Manager, Quality Control and R&D Manager in staff/support positions. With several of these companies, played an integral, ‘hands on’ role in the successful implementation of modern management philosophies and techniques such as Toyota Sew System. Lean Manufacturing, TQM, ‘Just In Time’ (JIT), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), SPC, MRPII, Set Up Time Reduction, Employee Involvement and Team-Centered Manufacturing, resulting in substantial cost savings and operational improvements.

Trained and coached over 3000 Black Belts, Green Belts and Lean Six Sigma Champions and Sponsors through hundreds of initiatives in Canada and internationally, in diverse organizations such as Honda, GM, Chrysler, Bombardier Aerospace, Toshiba, Magellan Aerospace, Bruce Power, Ingersoll Rand, Shaw Communications, Husky, Solium Financial, Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities, Marsh McLennan Insurance, Banking, Astra Zeneca, Dynacare Labs, City of Mississauga and many other Government Institutions.
