National Engineering Month (NEM 2018) is a time to recognize, celebrate and share what engineers do every day to improve our quality of life, keep us safe and strengthen our economy. Over the next month, hundreds of events will be taking place across Canada to spread the word that when it comes to engineering – there is a place for you!
OSPE is proud to collaborate as a founding partner of NEM Ontario, and we plan to celebrate NEM 2018 through a number of fun events and workshops across the province.
What events does OSPE have planned for NEM 2018?
Purple Power at Dynamic Earth – March 1: Enjoy a talk on the mining industry, followed by an underground tour “In the Footsteps of Sudbury’s Miners,” as well as a networking reception with hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Register today!
Nothin’ But NEM with the Toronto Raptors – March 6: OSPE, PEO and OACETT members will get together for a pre-game tip-off party at The Badali Bar & Cucina, followed by an evening with the Raptors vs. Atlanta Hawks.
NEM 2018 Interactive Workshops with OSPE and Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO): Participate in interactive activities that will excite the next generation of problem-solvers about what engineers do and the many diverse sectors in which engineers work.
- Thunder Bay with PEO – March 3
- Ottawa with PEO – March 10
- CN Tower – March 12 – 16
- Niagara with PEO – March 15
- Sudbury with PEO – March 31
Share your passion for the profession with others by becoming an OSPE volunteer during March Break. Help run engineering-themed activities for students at the CN Tower from March 12 – 16.
Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know which days you are available to volunteer.
Our upcoming events would not be possible (or as much fun) without the enthusiasm and participation of members like you! Round up your engineering colleagues, friends and family, and come check out a NEM event near you.
