This past month, several OSPE members were recognized by their peers with significant engineering awards and appointments. As the voice of Ontario’s engineers, OSPE congratulates these members on their success at the provincial, national and global levels.
Dr. Marc Rosen, P.Eng.
Dr. Marc Rosen, P.Eng., was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), one of the country’s most prestigious and selective academic bodies. Dr. Rosen is a Professor of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Ontario Tech University.
Catherine Karakatsanis, P.Eng.
Catherine Karakatsanis, P.Eng., was named president elect of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). FIDIC represents over 40,000 consulting engineering firms and one million professionals worldwide. Karakatsanis is Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Morrison Hershfield Group, where she oversees over 900 employees across Canada and the United States.
Montana Wilson, P.Eng., David Chamberlain, P.Eng., and Don Holland, P.Eng.
Montana Wilson, P.Eng., David Chamberlain, P.Eng., and Don Holland, P.Eng., were elected to the 2022-2023 Board of Directors for the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Ontario (ACEC-Ontario). Outside of their board duties, Wilson is the CEO & Founder of GRIT Engineering Inc., Holland is the Canadian Market Leader – Water at GHD Group Ltd., and Chamberlain is the Vice President & General Manager of Eramosa Engineering Inc.
Ryan Matthews, P.Eng.
Ryan Matthews, P.Eng., received ACEC-Ontario’s “Pinnacle Award” in recognition for his exceptional leadership and volunteer work. Matthews sits on ACEC-Ontario’s Board of Directors and City of Ottawa Liaison Committee, and formerly chaired the association’s Ottawa Chapter. Outside of his volunteer work, he is Executive Director and Municipal Market Chief with J.L. Richards & Associates Ltd. (Former member Julianna Arcese, P.Eng., also received ACEC-Ontario’s “Emerging Leader Award” in recognition of her promise as a future leader in the consulting engineering industry.)
